Sweet Summertime

Hi Friends, I’m sweet summertime dreamin’ today!

The sound of waves rolling ashore, white sugar beaches, naps by the pool, beautiful sunsets, cold drinks, and romantic dinners. The concept of vacation is quite simple, you have a vision of what you want in mind and you’re off. Right? Honestly, just the thought of planning, booking, and packing for a vacation stresses me out! While the “world wide web” is helpful, it can also be very overwhelming. Expedia. Priceline. Travelocity. Orbitz. They’re all great resources with A TON of reviews (many of which are EXTREME, you know what I mean). That being said, how do you narrow down your choices? Obviously budget helps with this, but then you still have to decide a location. Once you experience the relief of finally picking the magical place, the excitement is quickly taken over with the countless resorts you still have left to sort through. A friend said this place was great, another said the food was terrible, yet the reviews are all over the board…eventually hours, days, or weeks later you come to a decision for your well deserved trip. Sound familiar???

This has certainly been the case for us, with our honeymoon probably being the most stressful of all. After all, it’s supposed to be perfect right? While we loved our honeymoon stay in Aruba in August 2014, this past year we wanted something different. Something different as in, no hustle and bustle, no water sports, no alarms…just pure relaxation. Friends, in Aruba we woke up at 6:00am (no bluffing here) to reserve beach chairs! What newlyweds wants to do that?!

So for our 1st Anniversary we wanted a direct flight, adults only, an exclusive spa and lots of R&R all while keeping it in budget! Just a couple visits to Travelocity, fortunately we found the perfect fit… Cabo San Lucas for the win!!!

And when I say win, I mean it! I got the spa, R&R and a beach! My better half got one of the top ranked international golf courses, R&R and amazing food!

So you ask where is this place? Find our favorite Cabo destination here! You want to relax? They’ve got it! You want good food/drinks? They’ve got it! They’ve got it all- along with 12 restaurants/bars to choose from and so much more! So much more means, access to their sister resorts restaurants, bars, pools, spas, etc.

I mentioned golf… I am a golfers wife… and I’ll say I was impressed with the views here too!!! The beauty of this golf course and it’s ability to incorporate all elements of the terrain truly do make it unique. Very few places in the world are you surrounded by desert, mountains, and glorious ocean views all the while taking in the sun and sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. If you can’t get your hubs to agree on booking this trip, just let him check out Quivira Golf Club.

Our stay consisted of 5 days and 4 nights and we loved every minute of it! Since our anniversary is in August, we choose to vacation during late summer. We both love tropical places, so this location was a no brainer. We can’t say enough about the food, service and location.
May I mention a few things–
 – It is forbidden to swim in the ocean. Not only is it cold, the tide is very dangerous.
 – Do not buy pesos leaving the airport. Most venues will accept american money and the exchange rate is sort’ve a scam.
 – We suggest private transportation to and from the airport as the trip is about an hour one way. We did not book this and dropped 4 different couples off at various resorts before finally arriving to ours.
 – The resort itself doesn’t have much in terms of nightlife, but that’s not exactly what we were after. We loved the calm serenity we had hoped we’d find. For those of you who enjoy fun nights on the town, rest assured the marina and surrounding areas have numerous, well known places to party the night away!
 – The resort is near the southern tip of the peninsula and gives off a very secluded feel which adds to the element of peacefulness. You can see it’s sister resorts and the golf course in the distance, as well as private condos embedded in the mountainside.
 – With direct flights, top notch service, great food, and a boutique style resort we felt like it was priced very fair and affordable in comparison to many other destinations out there.
THE VERDICT: Yes, we will absolutely go back! Might I add, as I’m typing Cody is researching our next trip!

What are your favorite vacation destinations? Where are you going this year? I’d love to hear!
Happy Friday!
