As the name implies, Friendsgiving is just like Thanksgiving only celebrated with friends. I’m a sucker for celebrations that involve food and friends, and any day that lets me celebrate both at once I’m in! So, Friendsgiving is one of my favorite holidays (although — yes, Mom — I definitely love our Thanksgiving, too).
This weekend we did just that, celebrated Friendsgiving at my sister’s! Being the big sister and all, she made all the hard stuff – the turkey and stuffing! The other guests, including myself brought side dishes (pot luck style) and the yummiest desserts! We had such a great time Saturday catching up with friends, stuffing our bellies, sipping wine and playing games until we cried!
Sidenote: Along with loving all things fashion, I love decorating.. anything! Home decor, parties, Christmas – you name it and I’m game! (Guess in another life, I should consider this?!?!) Anywho, when my sister asked me to decorate for her annual Friendsgiving party I immediately had the best tablescape idea in mind!
For starters, I’m obsessed with gold decor! My theory is there’s not much a little gold spray paint or gold glitter can’t fix! The pumpkins can be found at your local grocery store along with gold spray paint! Yep, it’s THAT easy! The glitter pinecones can actually be found in the Christmas section at your nearest Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
We usually do not celebrate any type of party without some kind of Nothing Bundt Cakes! Y’all, if you’ve never tried them you are missing out! 9 different flavors and cream cheese + butter icing makes them a little piece of heaven! Oh, and how perfect is this wine tag? Hehe, I can’t stop laughing because we ALL have at least one 🙂
Now, I’m off to prepare for two family Thanksgivings in the next 3 days + a huge post for Black Friday! Whose headed shopping this week? Stay tuned to TCE for some of the best deals!
