Austin, Texas

First let’s chat about this Wine Red Floral Print Dress from Make Me Chic. You guys, it is adorable, easy and very budget friendly (under $25)! Because of my height (5’8), I paired it with white skinny jeans and I love how my skinnies brighten the look for spring! The wine/red color makes for an easy way to incorporate it into your Valentine’s Day date night outfit and red is expected to be a huge color trend this spring! For you shorter gals, you can totally wear it with booties or heels and with or without leggings/jeans! I kept my look simple with these EARRINGS and nude heels found HERE (30% off)! Thank you to Make Me Chic for this floral dress that I will be wearing for Valentine’s Day date night and also right into spring!

Dress | Jeans | Earrings | Heels | Sunnies

A couple of weeks ago the hubs and I packed up and headed to Austin for the long weekend! While the weather wasn’t in our favor (cold, rainy and dreary) the change of scenery is just what we needed! A big shout out to the hubs for planning this entire trip and the spontaneous fun we had!

For starters, we stayed in north Austin, and spent most of our time there. We did visit downtown Austin one day, but found ourselves headed back north pretty quick! If you ever find yourself in Austin, here are some of our favorites!

Eats and Sips

Josephine House -The restaurant is open all day, but if you can swing it, we highly recommend their brunch.

Unchi
Though it’s not the most affordable place in town, sushi lovers can’t possibly turn down a dinner at Uchi. The restaurant stands out by combining local ingredients with some of the best seafood around the world to create a unique Japanese dining experience.Perla’s Seafood
Seafood isn’t always easy to come by in Austin making Perla’s a unique and worthwhile experience. Forgoing fancy recipes, the restaurant allows for the seafood to be the real star here.Moonshine Grill
Here you will find classic American comfort food taking you back to when life was simple! Enjoy their Sunday brunch and drink specials right on the patio!

Copper Restaurant & Dessert Lounge (The Domain)
Copper, also home of Austin Cake Ball (so yummy), is a unique, locally owned restaurant that specializes in sweets, cocktails and contemporary American cuisine spiced with local Texan influence.

Glorias Restaurant (The Domain)
Gloria’s offers diners authentic Salvadorian cuisine and the BEST margaritas! Guests have the option to choose from a variety of fresh and delicious dishes made with the finest ingredients.
North Italia (The Domain)
Every day, North Italia starts from scratch to create signature dishes. The pizza is a revelation. North is the place to talk shop over a cocktail or swap gossip sharing delectable chef creations.

Entertainment

Punch Bowl Social (The Domain)
Punch Bowl Social has eliminated having to choose between respectable food and beverage, and a great social experience. Punch Bowl Social brings ‘Old School’ entertainment, culinary refinement, and a modern beverage program under one roof. Here you will find big screens, 6 bowling lanes, darts, scrabble and pool all being enjoyed by adults and kids!

Rainey Street
Rainey Street is not your regular run of the mill bar. Believe it or not, it is actually a row of houses converted into bars to create some of the most fun nightlife in Austin. Each house on Rainey is a little bit different from the last and offers something for just about anyone. Though it’s not considered to be the main bar scene in Austin, it’s quickly become the most loved due to its relaxed, low-key atmosphere. Just remember to bring cash!

Shop

The Domain – Seriously y’all, everything you need is here! Situated in a beautiful park-like setting, The Domain features 100 upscale and mainstream retail stores, almost half of which are exclusive within the market. A sampling of retailers includes high-end boutiques such as David Yurman, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co. and Austin’s only Neiman Marcus, as well as more traditional retailers too!

Gateway Shopping Center – Home to 30 prime retail stores and eateries that include stores like Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth Ave plus much, much more!

Stay

The Westin – Located within one of Austin’s premiere destinations, our north Austin hotel puts you in the heart of The Domain featuring upscale shopping, dining and entertainment. You can also grab your morning Starbucks, lunch or a drink to wine down! Oh, and their beds are so heavenly!

Aloft Hotel – The Aloft is a beautiful, stylish hotel just minutes from downtown. Though it’s not part of the main downtown strip, the hotel is both well designed and luxurious. The hotel is home to a restaurant and lounge so food options are never too far away. Just a quick ride to the downtown area means you can save a bit while still feeling like part of the action.

***The Next Trip (Of course, I’m working on planning trip #2 because there’s THAT much to see and do in Austin)!

Becker Vineyards
You can’t go to Austin without visiting a vineyard in beautiful Texas hill country! The vineyard consists of over 60 vineyards and offers tours of their scenic. Just outside of Austin, the scenic views, tastings, and relaxed atmosphere make Becker Vineyards an obvious pick.

Lake Austin Spa
Relax, put your feet up and take in all the Lake Austin Spa has to offer. A retreat in Texas hill country, the spa focuses on the health and wellbeing of its patrons. For a full day of pampering, you can opt for a day spa package, but treating yourself to a one-off facial or manicure while you’re in the city aren’t bad picks either.

Lady Bird Lake Trail
The Lady Bird Lake trail consist of a 10-mile trail along Town Lake downtown. You can go for a morning run or even just an easy afternoon walk for a bit of exercise during your trip to the city. Because it’s easily accessible from downtown, just about anyone can take advantage.

Any reccomendations or favorites I missed? I’d love to hear them! Have a great week everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Thank you to Make Me Chic for making this post possible. As always, all opinions are my own.
