College football season is well underway and we alumnis take pride in our game day fashion choices. You may not be an expert on the game itself, but you can certainly be an expert on cute football friendly tailgating outfits. All it takes is a little creativity and a whole lot of school spirit. Here are a few tips for tailgating in style while rooting on your favorite team.
If you’re a crowd-pleaser…
Take your school’s colors and alter it to match your individual style. Try your ordinary football t-shirt and transform it into something special. Here are a few DIY options: cut it into a crop top, turn it into a dress, or cut the back into a unique design. Don’t be limited by our suggestions because there are so many different ways to take your t-shirt from basic tee to “look-at-me.”
It can be tricky to find cute apparel in your team’s color. Or perhaps you’ve been invited last minute. My solution? Throw on a navy or black dress and let your accessories do the rest. Add a monogram necklace, scarf or bauble earrings and you’re set! Add your favorite pair of cowboy boots and head out! This year my go to accessory has been this stadium approved clear crossbody! Y’all it makes things so easy, it’s super chic and under $30.
Let your graphic tee do the talking…
Tuck/front tuck your favorite tee into a miniskirt or favorite denim for a laid-back feel. Add a blazer to dress it up or match accessories to give it a theme! It’s a vibe that says looking good doesn’t have to be complicated. My favorite style because the possibilities are endless and effortless. But y’all, how cute is THIS tee? I recently bought THIS front knot (available in other colors) option too because why not?!?!
No matter what kind of football knowledge or style sense you have, you can tackle the tailgate scene by repping your school, your team and your personality. Bring your A-game with clothes bearing your school’s logo and trendy pieces in your school’s colors.
I hope everyone has a great Friday and even better weekend! And who ever your rooting for this weekend, go team go!
