HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to a fresh start. A new chapter with new questions to be asked, embraced and loved! First, I want to thank each and every one of you for following along in 2017! It was a year of excitement and change, but one that I learned so much from. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! If you missed my 2017 recap, you can read it HERE!
Each year leading up to NYE, I start thinking about how I can make the next year better and what I want to accomplish. I then jot everything down in my phone and continue to think about each. Sidetone: While this is very personal for me to share, I consider all of you my friends and want to share everything with you and maybe, one of these resolutions will speak to you and you’ll add something from this list to yours!
Be Graceful – Grace. What is grace? The actual definition is: “the unmerited favor of God toward humanity.” God poured out His unwavering, undeserved grace on us, so it’s our job to have grace with one another. I believe that delivering grace says more about the deliverer than the recipient. The grace giver is said to be patient, forgiving, and overflowing with love. This year, I want to be the grace giver! I want to spread grace to my loved ones and community as well as giving myself some grace along the way!
Be Present – Being present means not thinking about past events or future plans, but rather living each moment, in the moment, as it comes. This year I want to focus on what is happening now. Be happy now! No more playing the comparing game. Be present to God, the hubs, friends, family and guests wholeheartly!
Be More Intentional – Intentionally spend time on what matters most. Focus on doing more of what I love, less of what I don’t. Why I want to be intentional? Because I want to do more than just get by. Because of dreams and aspirations and life!
Quiet Time – With so many things vying for our attention in the natural world (phones, the gram, TV, gossip, etc.), it makes sense that a still small voice could get lost in the shuffle. For me daily (morning) quiet time is when I actively see God. It’s my prayer time and where I ask for forgiveness and express thankfulness and gratitude. I also incorporate a daily devotional (my favorite is here – Jesus Calling) or open my First 5 App.
Run 500 Miles – I did the math… that’s under 1.5 miles a day // almost 10 miles a week! I keep telling myself I CAN DO IT!!!
80/20 Rule of Eating – 80 percent of the time I will focus on eating clean, good-for-me foods, and 20 percent of the time I will have the freedom to indulge as I please! Give me all the cake 🙂
So there you have it – my resolutions for 2018! I’ve written them down and posted them on the world wide web! It’s official, I’ll keep you updated 🙂
So today, or this week/weekend take time to figure out what God’s been up to in your life, what kinds of blessings and gifts He’s given to you. And don’t forget to give yourself a little break now and then, eat some good chocolate, drink a good glass of red wine, and spend some time with Jesus and your people. You’ll all be a little better off for it!
Amazing post!! Thanks for sharing with us!
