Hi Friends and happy Wednesday! I’m sure most of you are back on the grind this week; whether that means back at your 8 – 5 or you are officially alone and back to mommy duty! I’ll say a little prayer that your first full week back is smooth. To be completely honest, the start of 2019 has been a slow one… hence 9 days into the year and I’m finally sharing my goals with you! But, better late than never.. right?!?
This year I’m giving myself grace! In the past two years I’ve set 5 plus goals/resolutions. This year, I’m again giving myself a lil’ grace and keeping them short and sweet!
Be More
Let me be clear here, NO I’m not trying to do more, be more, want more, etc. on my own. As I’ve thought about this year and what’s to come, I know that the Lord has set me out and has made me for more! And to want more, one must have faith in His plan!
This past weekend at church our pastor gave an incredible message titled Made for More. Since then, this subject has been on my mind and again what better time to incorporate something new than the month of January? During this message he used the acroyomn MORE while relating it all back to Him and His word. This message really hit home for me, so not only did I want to act upon it, but also share it!
M – MOVE IT! To trust in Him and to truly have faith in His plan, we have to have the courage to move. I believe we often experience nudges, thoughts, and feelings from the holy spirit, but in order to act on them we have to move outside of our comfort zone. This year I’m challenging myself to take action and to move.
O – OWN IT! We all have a unique story, a history, and a path. No two journeys look the same, but regardless of the triumphs or failures that journey is yours. This year I’m challenging myself to stop making excuses, and to own it.
R – Record It and Read It! – All to often, if we don’t write it down we don’t remember it. Note taking isn’t for everyone, but there is absolutely something to be said about taking note of important things in life. We often have the best of intentions to make changes in our lives, but over time the feeling fades and consequently the change often never takes place. This year I’m challenging myself to write down my goals and to frequently read them as a constant source of accountability.
E – Expect and Execute It! – Our plans, goals, dreams, and prayers can’t just be a thought or a feeling…we have to expect them. If we expect our “it” to happen, then we will commit our minds and hearts to executing “it”. We have to do the natural, and trust that God will do the supernatural. This year I’m challenging myself to expect each of my “its”, and to commit and faith on executing “it”.
Eat Fresh
Give me all the fresh veggies and fruits! The hubs and I started this goal already last week! It’s amazing what changing just a little in your diet can do for your mind, body and spirit! When I woke up Monday morning, I felt refreshed and clean. I’m not following any particular plan, just trying to remind myself 2-3 fruits a day never killed anyone + veggies at lunch and for sure dinner will only make things better! Plus, have I ever mentioned my love for smoothies? Oh yum!
We recently purchased a veggie steamer to help consume more veggies at dinner, yes whatever it takes! I’m a huge fan of steamed broccoli and green beans but need more ideas, please send them my way!
Be Active
For the first time in two years, I’m not setting a running goal. Over the last two years I’ve run over 900 miles and need to change it up! I’m promising myself to be active at least thirty minutes a day. Towards the end of last year, I found a new love for HITT workouts. So, I’ll definitely be doing those 3-4 times a week and possibly running/walking the other! Who knows, maybe I’ll find another workout soon I love! I’ll keep you updated 🙂
P.S. As you can tell from the pictures, I’m all about neutrals this time of the year! I should also state, I’ve never met a cardigan I didn’t like! My favorite thing about them, is you can dress them up or down! Here’s my favorite casual look, but don’t think I haven’t paired this same look with leggings and my favorite sporty kicks! I’ve linked several options below, some are currently on sale, too!
Another style tip which might be my favorite is pair this exact look with white jeans! And yes! It’s definitely okay to do so in early January and not wait till Easter!
In case you missed last week’s 2019 kickstart post, I saved it here!
