SURPRISE! Yes, friends you read that correctly! WE are having a BABY and have been keeping a {little} secret for 16 weeks now! We are so excited to finally announce the news! I feel like I’ve been keeping this secret for so many months, but we wanted to wait for the right time to share… and what better time than the new year?!?!

Our biggest and greatest blessing is set to arrive in June 2019!
“Children are a gift from God, they are His reward.” Psalm 127:3
I’m sharing all of the details and hopefully answering some questions you might have! I have always used my blog to document our milestones and memories, so I want to remember all of this too!
My Pregnancy Thus Far…
As of late December I am feeling much better! I’m in my second trimester between 16 and 17 weeks, and the baby is now the size of an avocado! No bump just yet, well maybe in the evenings when he/she decides to make a small appearance :). We’ve had 1 sonogram – at 13 weeks – and also got back our genetic blood test showing everything is normal! During that appointment it finally felt REAL! Baby M wasn’t just a dot any longer, he/she was flipping and waving the entire time! We feel so blessed!
The first trimester was no joke. There were several days and weeks where I experienced morning sickness lasting throughout the day. Food wasn’t my friend, but my pillow was! Very happy and thankful to be feeling like myself again, gaining more and more energy daily and slowing starting to work out again!
Cravings have been pretty mild. I feel like I’ve been eating a lot of sandwiches (cut the meat) as of late, but I’ve always loved them. I do tend to choose cold foods – smoothies, watermelon and raw veggies! I’m not really loving pizza and Italian food which is so weird! The biggest change has been coffee. Around week 6 I cut it out cold turkey and haven’t looked back.

Boy or Girl?
Your guess is just as good as ours! Several of our family members think it’s a girl. We are indifferent and just continue to pray for a happy and healthy baby and pregnancy!
The hubs and I have recently decided NOT to find out the gender! No friends, I haven’t completely lost it :). Y’all, I can’t wait for that moment because it will be SO special!
Waiting to find out the gender has been so laid back for me but stressful for my family since they want to plan! I thought I could never do this, but I just know I’ll never get this special surprise again in life so I’m thrilled to do it now! We will be SO thankful for either gender and just want to enjoy the pregnancy either way!
How We Shared the News!
For those of you who are lucky enough to know my husband, know he is very type A! Secrets, timing and definitely surprises are hard to pull off with him. One thing I learned about my husband during this season is, he does pay attention to a little more around the house than I sometimes give him credit for… like my cycle timing and such if you will.
One Sunday afternoon he called me out and asked when I was going to take THE test. Surprised, I asked, “What test?” His reply was, “You know what I’m talking about” with a big smile! For whatever reason, I had been putting off taking a test (at this point, I was 5 days late).
After being called out, guess what the first thing I did the morning of October 22nd was? You guessed it, drove to Target to purchase a pregnancy test!
After I read the instructions 6,389 times and finally got the nerve to take the test, I did! Let me tell you, those three minutes were the longest minutes of my life! I waited. My heart was pounding. My hands were sweaty. And as I stood there and waited, I turned to God. In that moment I thanked Him for all the blessings in our life. I asked Him to do His will in His perfect timing. And lastly, I promised Him I’d be faithful no matter what the outcome was.
Three blinks later I read… PREGNANT!
After catching my breath and wiping away tears, I immediately opened my Pinterest app to find a creative way to finally tell the hubs! Let’s just say, timing wasn’t on my side as it was 2 in the afternoon and he usually arrives home from work around 5.
I saw the image below, told myself I could recreate it, add a few balloons and it’s a done deal! I ran to HEB grabbed one blue and one pink balloon, printed the page and patiently waited till I heard the garage door open that evening!
I couldn’t help but notice his grin as he saw the balloons and as he read the page he begin to glow! In that moment I kinda fell in love all over again! We hugged and kissed and hugged a little more! Together we thanked God for answering our prayer! The rest is history and I know without a doubt, he will be the best daddy in the world!

We debated waiting until Christmas to tell our parents and siblings. After thinking it over and chatting about it more, we opted in telling them over Thanksgiving at week 9.
We hosted my family this year so what better way to share the news? It’s a tradition during Thanksgiving dinner to go around the table and for everyone to share what they are grateful for. Cody started this year and we went clockwise with me being the last to share. My time finally came, with my heart pounding I shared the news almost without tearing up! I stated, “I’m grateful for all the blessings this year especially this one” and held up the tiniest oneise that read Baby Marburger June 2019! My parents cried and my sister and her husband yelled with excitement! My nephew who is 9 smiled and was a little quiet. Little sister, Bailey, who is 5 made up for his quietness immediately stating “She didn’t want B to have a baby.” We think she is warming up to the idea because over Christmas she suggested if the baby is a girl we should name her Rosy. Be still my heart!
After having breakfast with Cody’s family Thanksgiving morning we surprised them! I had a “gift” for his mom. The “gift” was the same tiny onesie, this time only wrapped up. As she opened it, the first thing she saw was the word BABY. Back story: Since the day we became Mr. and Mrs., Cody’s parents have asked to become grandparents. We always stated we were on a 7 year plan. So, literally every anniversary his mom would count down the years! Back to the oneise. As she fully unwrapped it and read the whole thing she asked in disbelief, “Are y’all serious?” Glowing we both replied, “YES!”
Looking back, we believe we definitely surprised both of our families and are very grateful for all their support! None of us can wait to love on and spoil our little blessing in the months to come!
Up Next!
Prayers for a healthy baby and pregnancy! This past Monday we had our 16 week appointment and all is great! No sonogram but a healthy heart rate of 158. God is SO GOOD!
I’m back to sharing outfits on here, IG and Facebook! As the weeks pass, I will share maternity and non-maternity options for y’all! I tend to write about whatever is going on in our lives, so you might see more pregnancy fashion and lifestyle content! I’ll be able to travel for several more weeks before the third trimester and baby comes so really no changes!
Speaking of travel, we are planning a Babymoon in early April! I’d love to hear your favorite locations so send them my way!
