Five years ago today, we became husband and wife. At 26 and 24, we were just a couple of “kids” madly in love. We didn’t know a lot back then, but we knew one thing for certain: we belonged together. And now, half a decade later, I can say with absolute certainty that the past five years have been the best of my entire life!
I don’t tell you this as often as I should, but I love being your wife. In fact, I’m proud to be your wife. You continue to amaze me year after year with your ability to selflessly love me.
You would do anything for me. You put up with me and my shenanigans, day in and day out. You even put up with me while I was pregnant for nine months, and for that, you deserve more than a blog post, you deserve a trophy.
Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face and calming me down when I get overwhelmed with life. But most importantly, thank you for being my best friend, biggest fan and supporter the last five years!
We’re on a new adventure now, you and I, and there’s nobody I’d rather be learning with than you. I love watching you with Cru, how sweet and attentive you are with him, calling him “sweet boy” and always being worried about every little thing.
You’re an amazing dad, and an even better husband. Our marriage is far from perfect, but I honestly believe it’s getting better and better with each passing day. Thank you for loving me the way that you do. Cheers to the second half of this decade, and many many more to come. I love you, Cody Ryan Marburger!
Year 5 in Review!
We started the year at the beach, our happy place! A week in Mexico is always a great idea! Vitamin D, a little R&R and making new memories with you is good for my soul!
Last fall you had the honors of throwing out the first pitch at an Astros game! To say you made me proud would be an understatement.
In early October we found out our lives would be forever changed in the best way! After praying for months, God answered our prayers for Baby Marburger!
In November and December we announced to our family we were expecting Baby M. My heart has never been so full hearing and seeing everyone’s excitement and anticipation!
January through May we prayed, prepped and practiced for Baby M. From painting the nursery to taking childbirth classes and playing the waiting game we did it all side by side, hand in hand!
…and finally in June, our precious baby boy arrived! Your eyes lit up with joy when the doctor said, “IT’S A BOY!” My heart overflows with love seeing the two of you interact together! Cody, you not only make the best husband but the best father too! We love you!
